readsdirtybooksHer father is the second (originally third son) of a noble with a love of books and a head for business. He is a big burly looking man but at heart is quite sweet and kind, not to mention a pushover for his wife and only child - He isn't originally from Albion.
Her mother is the daughter of a noble (who enjoys holding tourneys and despairs at his granddaughters lack of interest in knights and the like)and she is the disciplinarian of the family (if how often she hides away and scolds Alyss for reading, namely during events and the like). She has a great love of wild flowers and her family. She finds knights to be barbaric, at times, but is a lot more knowledgeable about how things work than Alyss is.
Her best friend in the entire world is Ygraine. They are inseparable. Ygraine is the genius that gets them out of trouble and Alyss does her best to keep an eye-out, be there with advice/a shoulder to lean on, and all the other stuff supportive friends do. She is also good friends with, and adores, Tristan. He is like a big brother to her.
